About Me
Hampstead Community Centre was founded in 1976; the building started life as a coach house and then a garage after which it was renovated by a group of local people after it fell into disrepair.
In 1993 Camden Council withdrew revenue funding; the Centre put in a bid to operate the Centre on a self funding basis (which was accepted) and prevented the Centre from being closed down.
